History

DR Technologies, Inc. (DRT) is a California C-Corporation founded in 1994 with headquarters in San Diego, California. Lyle Dunbar (the “D” in “DR”) is founder, President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board. He is an aerospace engineer with BS and MS degrees from Iowa State University and PhD engineering studies at UCLA. He has over 30 years of management experience building successful high technology businesses at DR Technologies (1994-Present), SPARTA as a Senior Vice President and Director (1983-1993), and as a SAIC Vice President and Operations Manager (1971-1982).

DR Technologies operated as a Small Business Incubator during its first 5 years (1994-1999) and developed several small high technology aerospace and commercial businesses focused on composite structures: Vanguard Composites Group - IR sensors; Ion Optics - solar energy; United Innovations and Sporting Goods - action sports composites products.

DR Technologies has been focused on the composite structures business since 2000, building companies engaged in engineering and manufacturing of composite structural products for aerospace and defense applications.

The company was started as an employee-owned company and has added non-employee investor shareholders as needed to finance its growing businesses. Employee-owners earn their ownership through initial stock purchases, stock options based on performance; and ESOP retirement plan stock contributions.
